– How would you create a PLN prior to engaging a social media campaign on a topic of your choice.

If I was going to create a campaign on social media, I think the topic will realte to the psychology area. As Woods mentioned in his post, “my own PLN includes people who work in graphic design, software coding, creative writing, video game design, and public school teaching” (Wood). Psychology is a broad topic that can be related to many other areas that can inspire studies, for example, sociology, biology, humanity, philosophy and education. By following the lastest update in these different academic field can also lead current psychology innovation as well.

Wood also mentioned about Twitter as a great social media that can perform PLN study by using hashtags (Wood). That is a new information for me as an international student who was not familiar with that social media previously. After reading Wood’s blog, I went to Twitter and register an account. I found it fascinating by the short-form of twitter post and how easy people can share/post on it. The hashtag is a great tool for people to find the right communities and professional voices quickly. I think a great feature of Twitter is that people can engage in (professional) conversation conveniently. Wood states that “You’ll make better connections if you’re open and genuine,” that also reconfirm the main theme of the PLN learning is to exchange information with one another.
